Dress Code

Renfrew Collegiate Institute (RCI) enforces a dress code. 

  • Dress must be clean, neat and appropriate for school or business/workplace setting.
  • The following items are not to be worn at school:  mesh shirts, halter tops, spaghetti straps, short shorts and skirts, and any clothing bearing offensive language or pictures promoting alcohol, drugs, sex, or racism.
  • Skirts and shorts must be longer than fingertips extended from arms on side.  Tops and bottoms must meet.  Tops must be at least three fingers in width at the shoulders.  Frayed or intentionally or excessively ripped clothes are not allowed.  Shoes must be worn.
  • Hats may only be worn when leaving or entering the school.  Hats should be placed in lockers, not taken to class, during the day.
  • Coats and backpacks must be left in locker.
  • Violations to the Dress Code and Personal Items Policy may result in a warning/detention/suspension.
